Employers Must Close E-Verify Cases in Anticipation of New System Interface
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that E-Verify will transfer all case data to a new interface later this month. In anticipation of the transfer, employers must reach a final case result and close all E-Verify cases.
USCIS has issued the following guidance about open cases:
- Open cases that have not been accessed for more than 365 days will be closed by E-Verify. Employers will be able to access these cases as completed or historical cases.
- Cases that have received a final result will be closed. Employers will be able to access these cases as completed or historical cases.
- Open cases that are not completed, but which have been accessed within the last 365 days will remain open for employers to continue processing.
USCIS has not released the exact date of the data transfer. USCIS has encouraged employers to close outstanding E-Verify cases prior to the end of the month.
