USCIS Releases New Issue of E-Verify Connection Newsletter
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a March issue of the E-Verify Connection newsletter.
The new edition announces that the E-Verify system will be upgraded in Spring 2018. Improvements will include enhanced system security, increased speed and system performance, and improved fraud detection capabilities.
The newsletter also includes E-Verify enrollment statistics by state and by industry. Georgia leads the U.S. with 96,427 E-Verify Memoranda of Understanding, while professional, scientific, and technical services’ E-Verify enrollment beat out other industries.
Finally, the March edition of the E-Verify Connection newsletter includes information about desk reviews being conducted by E-Verify’s Monitoring and Compliance unit. The desk review process involves Monitoring and Compliance representatives contacting enrolled employers by telephone to make recommendations about Form I-9 and E-Verify compliance. During a desk review, the Monitoring and Compliance representative may request an employer’s Forms I-9.
