USCIS Releases New Issue of E-Verify Connection Newsletter
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has released a December issue of its E-Verify Connection newsletter.
The new edition of the newsletter contains information about the new Form I-9. Employers must begin to use the new version of Form I-9 by January 22, 2017. The new Form I-9 allows employers to complete the form online, and includes drop-down menus and smart fields. The form also contains a new “Additional Information” field to allow employers to make annotations.
The December issue reminds E-Verify participating employers to download E-Verify transaction records dated on or before December 31, 2006. USCIS disposes of any E-Verify transaction records over 10 years old. Employers have until March 31, 2017 to download these transaction records.
Finally, the newsletter announces that an updated M-274, Form I-9 Handbook for Employers, is forthcoming.
